Hair: Two Year Updates

Hello!

Do you know how mothers refer to their child's age? You see a kid that you are guessing is about two years old so you ask the mother to be sure, "How old is your child?" Then they give you the technical answer, "Oh, Little Jimmy is now 30 months old." I know the months are important to people like doctors because with each month comes developmental changes in a child.

That's how I WAS doing my hair post. I've decided that I am going to stop posting hair pictures every month. As of right now, I think maybe four times a year would be a good amount of times to check my length. Especially now that I have not relaxed my hair in two years. I didn't post the type of pictures for my second year anniversary I wanted because I would like to flat iron my hair for the pictures. As of right now, I was trying not to flat iron until it gets colder (so I don't sweat out my hair).  We had an extremely hot summer and I knew on August 16th that press would not last.  Why put all that heat on my hair if I can't enjoy the straightness? Also, I have decided to stop labeling my post under "transitioning."  Only the tips of the very front section have relaxer on it and I'm not about to chop that off (I like my length) so for now on I'm claiming full natural hair (since my hair is 98% natural away).

So, be on the lookout for those pictures in the future.  I plan on flat ironing my hair before the new year.  To tide you over until then, I took some pictures of my hair in twist.  The longer my hair gets, the more I like to wear the twists.  Not only to just achieve a twistout, but just wearing the twist as a style.  I will be happy when my twist get slightly below my shoulders.  If I were to pay someone to give me kinky twist with kanekalon hair, it would be slightly below my shoulders.  Since my hair is healthy and growing, I will come to a point where I won't need the fake hair and I can save $200+ by twisting my own hair. Here are my twist today:

Remember how my twist used to look? They've come a long way! I could barely twist the crown section.  Now I am getting major hang time.  Click here to see an older post of my twist.  Look at the back of my head.  I put that silver duck bill clip there because the hair was so short it could not be twisted at all.    The only thing about wearing twist as a style is that after awhile they get fuzzy.  I guess a simple thing to do would be to redo the parameter parts of my head to keep the style fresh.  I also want to get into styling ideas by pinning them in a fancy manner.  I haven't quite figured that out yet though.

Yours truly,

Coily
