- They live in a place that may prohibit the burning of candles like a university dorm room
- Great smelling candles may be too costly
- Burning candles may be dangerous due to pets or children who might accidentally knock them over and start a house fire
They are great for me because I still get the powerful scent from a candle but I do not have to "babysit" the fire. Plus, I can get the same great smells that I like for a fraction of the cost. All you will need is:
- A candle warmer
- A glass jar
- Enough tarts to fit into your glass jar (Yankee Candle sells tarts around $1, especially when they are having sales.)
If just one of these tarts can work for up to 8 hours, imagine what six of them can do! |
I realized that after all the tarts melted down I could possibly fit more tarts in the jar.
This method would also be good if you like to mix scents together. When you want a new scent in the jar, simply put the jar in the freezer for twenty minutes. After you take the jar out, crack the wax in half with an object like a butter knife or a screwdriver and the wax will come out. If the jar you use has a straight opening and not a narrow one like mine, the wax should slide right out without having to crack the wax.
I really have to try some new scents soon. For the longest time I've been using fruity scents. I need a break from the fruity aromas and the only thing I had different around the house were the Christmas cookie tarts...in February, lol! I would like to try some floral and clean scents soon.
Have fun making your home smell good!
