I've Got Beef with Microsoft's "Windows Live Movie Maker"

I would like to make more videos for my YouTube channel.  I really would.  However, I've got beef with Microsoft's "Windows Live Movie Maker."  I just filmed a make up tutorial and spent hours editing it.  When I go to save the movie in 1080p HD quality, what happens? I wait a ridiculous amount of time for it to render, only to get a failure notice and it not save.

Another thing I don't like about Windows Live Movie Maker is that it is too basic.  I would like some editing software that allows me to have more advanced functions.  (I sort of think it's a downgrade of the Windows Movie Maker 2.6.)  I tried a free trial of Power Director 10 and I deleted it with quickness.  The fonts and other options where too goofy for me and I wanted something that would give me a more professional and polished look.  Maybe I should try the Sony Vegas trial. (I wish I could afford better software.  However, I'm just going to have to make Windows Live Movie Maker work for me for now.)

Stuff like this is not going to motivate me to make more videos.  I like Microsoft products because they are affordable and there is a lot of shareware that you can download to enhance your computer experience.  However, this situation makes me wonder what life would be like if I had a Mac. Are Mac's really better than PC's?

Is iMovie or Final Cut Pro really better than Windows Live Movie Maker? Do people with iMovie or Final Cut Pro have the same problems I'm having with the Live Movie Maker? If you have experienced both: Windows Live Movie Maker and iMovie or Final Cut Pro, please tell me the pros and cons of each in the comments section and which one you prefer.  Someday when I get my piggy bank right, I just might try some of your suggestions.

Your truly,

Coily
