What is protective styling you may ask? A protective style is basically any hairstyle that hides the ends of your hair. Something as simple as a bun is considered a protective style. Majority of protective styles requires you to have an updo. Or, you can wear a wig or get a sew-in.
I wanted to try an elaborate protective style. I am not the best when doing flat twist but in this featured look, I manged to do a big one in the front of my hair.
- Do individual two strand twist all over your head.
- Section off all of the twists in the front of your head from ear to ear. Put a clip on it to keep out of the way.
- Take the twist on the side of your head by your ears on both sides of your head. Bobby pin them to the center of your head.
- Take all the twist in the back of your head and bobby pin them in the center of your head. If you have enough hair, you might can come up with some type of fancy roll or something here.
- Unclip the twist in the front of you hair. Make one gigantic flat twist with the individual twist. Bobby pin the end of your flat twist behind your ear.
